Thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of the 2020 Alternative Gift Market
Together we raised $39,189 that will be distributed to 24 charitable organizations.
The organizations that address food insecurity and crisis relief, either here or abroad, received the strongest support.
- Each organization raised at least $1000 and the average amount was $1632.
- Our greatest thanks go to the generous people who shopped in the market and gave to the organizations the Steering Committee selected to participate in the market in 2020. You are the beating heart of the market's success!
- Our thanks go, of course, to the religious organizations and people who served on the Steering Committee to select the charities and shepherd the market from an in-person event to a virtual event so it could go forward even in the pandemic. Many zoom meetings, phone calls, and logistics decisions.
- The AGM Steering Committee extends a SPECIAL THANK YOU for the contributions of Charlotte Harris, Susan Casey and Convention Data Services who, all together, made it possible for the gift market to go virtual this year. Charlotte, a member of UU Falmouth, created the AGM website which will add to the success of future gift markets and Susan, a member of Church of the Messiah, created the AGM Shopping website. Susan is an employee of Convention Data Services of Bourne who provided the software free of charge.
We are optimistic that we will see you in person at next year's Alternative Gift Market which will include representatives for the organizations and the return of the fair trade tables.
